The Break Down: What he really meant to say

I recently read something that made me giggle, sigh, laugh and throw up in my mouth, all at the same time -  its the same effect as having soda come out your nose, burns but you enjoy it in an odd way. Mind you, I love the series, so I may be a bit partial to it.

I read it a couple times over, and well I finally started reading between the lines, it has to do with COD Black Ops coming out this November.  I  will first note that the article is not written by the charming men of NowGamer.com, they are just hosting it, but it amused me enough that I thought I would break down this spewing of hatred for a game still in the womb.Firstly the story in its entirety

If I had a tissue for every man who cried (cursing abound-be warned)

Now don’t get your panties in a wad boys, but truth be known, in most games, you boys are crybabies. Playing both MMOs and Console games, I do find the biggest whiners/bitchers to be in console gaming and shooter games. As much as you will brag in a war game how your gun is the almightiest there is, and how you can knife someone quicker then anyone else, so will you bitch when your skills are tested
Now Im not saying I dont bitch, but lets go through a list of more often then not common phrases you hear from woeful men: (more…)

Hello Dad, its nice to meet you

Yesterday I sat down in front of the TV and watched Oprahs show on Ancestory.  Where famous people were given help in finding out where they really came from.  It was a very interesting show that left my son wondering where we came from. We laughed and said knowing our luck we would be tied to some horrible historical figure.

I said to him let me pop on Ancestory.com and see what and if I can find anything on my father.

From as early as I can remember, my last name had been Marshall, my sisters last name, our fathers last name.  When I was 12 years old I went to get the mail. My mother being a single parent and out of work was on social services, and back then they had medical stickers for when you went to the doctors. I got the mail that day and was going through it, and saw my sisters, and then I saw mine. I stared at it for a moment and though they had made a mistake on the envelope, because my first and middle name were correct, but my last name wasn’t. (more…)

Microsoft Kinect vs. PlayStation Move, just my opinion

Okay so I have not tried either of them, most of us regular gamers have not. But I have some definite opinions on the 2, based on what I saw at E3 and based on some reviews I have read.

I remember when I was about 9 years old, we went to visit my Uncle whom at the time lived in Silicon Valley, CA.  Basically that means it is  a metonym  for the American high-tech sector. My Uncle who is the most amazing man I have ever known in my life, always worked in the tech industry, and I loved going to his place. I mean where else could I sit and play pong that was build into a table in his living room! The knobs! turning quicker and faster as I moved the paddles up and down the screen! (more…)

The Baseball Moms thoughts

We spend all winter, pitching lessons, batting lessons, agility training, all for spring. Baseball.
recreational leagues, travel teams, all star teams. Doing the circuit, you never plan a vacation, even a day trip as someone might need to pick up your kid for a game. Giving them the opportunity for more at bats. \
Both of my boys play, my 13 year old and my 12 year old. The 13 year old has made every all star team since he was 7, and my 12 year old the last 2 seasons. My 13 year old is a lefty pitcher, at 13 years old, 6 feet tall and 160 pounds, his fast ball has been clocked at 70 mph, he has a wicked curve ball that no one has ever hit (so far) plays first base (more…)

E3, PS3, and Gamers oh my!

I figured I should update this because I cant seem to get off my ass and blog like I am supposed to be doing. I recently purchased a script, a site and some anxiety at www.pro-gamebattles.com.  My recent new venture has kept me busy and away from most other things.  The site is dedicated to tournament style gaming for the PS3 console. Yes there are a million of these sites on the net, but all are a multi console tournament site, and there are not nearly enough matches for the PS3 on these sites, so I said, what the hell!

E3 had me giddy all over, like a school girl on a first date with her biggest crush, it gave me butterflies and everything, I shall soon be wrapping up my look at E3 and the games and my jealousy of everyone who was there and I wasnt.

I am finishing up a very overdue post about Evony, its not huge I cut it down from 3 pages to about 3 paragraphs, one reason only, clear the air on my part because Thirteen1.com didnt do it for me. Even though I love the guys there, I feel after the beating I took about the story I wrote, a follow up should of been done. So I shall be posting my own.

Gamers and their all dying love for the games they love, not even family will keep them away. A funny and truthful post about where gamers will draw the line.

Stay tuned!

But if you are not, then you had no idea and were quite shocked. that is when you all went searching for this so called update.

A short little ditty: Traditions

I used to think that traditions were things passed down from family member to family member, that I had somehow been nixed out of that because my family (mother, grandma, sister, aunts, uncle) had never been close, or celebrated together on holidays, or tried too.  Today is Easter, and although my family is not religious, it was late last night that I finally realized I shouldn’t be sad at all that I had nothing to share with my children of traditions of the past, but that we had for the last 20 plus years (my oldest is 21) been instilling traditions that they will carry on. Take Care of your Own: Enough with Haiti

Before you go and post how dare I write something like this.   Read what I have to say and understand where I  am coming from.

I,  like many, donated what they could to help the efforts in Haiti.  I am a below income mother of 5 children, 4 of whom live with me.  I did the donate by cell phone, clicking the number and hitting send, and they took 5 bucks off my pay as you go phone.  It was the least I could do.  I couldn’t possibly understand that kind of devastation, and really do feel for these people, BUT….
